Room Studio B

Are you ready to rock the note and harmonize "Glee" style? Then Treble Makers is for you! This class is for new vocalists, ages 11-14 who want to take the stage by singing pop favorites and Broadway's best. The class will have multiple performing opportunities and will culminate with a performance at the year end recital in May.

1 week course. 7:00-08:30PM.
Tap dance enables a dancer to create a percussive sound with their feet, focusing on rhythm, musicality and timing. All classes begin with an energetic warm-up, across the floor exercises and combinations. Our beginner students explore the fundamental steps of tap dance, learn tap terminology and develop the ability to maintain correct body placement.

Holiday Recital at SMU's O'Donnell Hall. All students are encouraged to participate.

Age: 6-11 and groups will be divided by age.

Please fill out the medical waiver online. No child will be admitted without filling the medical waiver.

Auditions

Not all students must audition for a principal role, but are encouraged to do so. Once you are registered, an audition date and time will be provided for you.

No a Capella allowed, 32 bars in a similar style to the show. Selections from the show are OK.

For the Audition: Please prepare and bring 16 – 32 bars of a song that show your best range and style. Please bring sheet music clearly marked where you would like to begin and end your cut. An accompanist will be provided. We will also be reading scenes from the script. Please be familiar with the story of Willy Wonka and have an idea of who the characters are and their personalities. Please be dressed ready to move/dance. No sandals, no heels, dresses, etc.

Auditions will take place on Monday, February 6th, in Studio B at 5:30PM 6705 Hillcrest Avenue.

Any student interested in the technical side (lights, sound, stage management, crew, etc.) are also encouraged to contact us and join!

Rehearsals
Weekly in Studio B every Monday beginning February 13th, 2017.

Cost: $695.00 for the course and includes all show materials and costumes.

A class for those who have had some tap dance experience, progressing with the footwork whilst still focusing on rhythmicality.

Rock the Barre is an upbeat ballet class that combines modern music with classical ballet steps, designed to work cardio and improve strength.

Please note that the Wednesday class will be an intense, ALL barre workout.

Tap classes emphasize the development and strengthening of basic tap technique and terminology highlighting the importance of rhythm and sound. Tap classes build stamina and physical fitness for our adult dancers. Adults take tap dance classes for fun, exercise and to keep their minds sharp. Adult tap builds aerobic fitness as well as muscle control and coordination.

The main focus of our adult classes is to create a fun, energetic learning environment for our adult students..and the music is awesome!!!

Straight from New York brings Jason Gotay to DAMPA for an unbelievable Masters Class.
JASON GOTAY has appeared on Broadway in Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark, and Bring it On: The Musical, creating the role of Randall. He has toured around the country with Bring It On. Off Broadway: Fking Up Everything, The Anthem. Regional: A Bronx Tale (Paper Mill Playhouse World Premiere Production), Into the Woods (The Muny).

This is a fantastic opportunity for actors to prep for DAMPA’s FALL production of “Bring It On”. Jason will work with actors on monologues, scenes and songs.

Straight from New York brings Elphaba to DAMPA for a unique workshop. Teal Wicks burst onto the musical theater scene in 2008 when she snagged the role of Elphaba in the Los Angeles company of Wicked, a role she reprised to critical acclaim in the San Francisco company before making the leap to Broadway. Students will learn show hits from Wicked and work on scenes and monologues.
